Medical
The use of UV and visible light curing adhesives is an important assembly technique for medical device manufacturers due to their rapid processing, cure on demand nature, ease of automation, lower energy requirements and solvent free bonding.
UV spot curing products can be used when bonding a variety of medical plastics, stainless steel, glass, rubber & similar or dissimilar substrates, for medical devices applications such as:
Katheterverklebungen
Bonding of a catheter requires 360° illumination to properly irradiate the assembly. Custom designed light delivery accessories like the Cure Ring, can be coupled to standard light guides to achieve this result. Alternatively a catheter can be cured using a multi-legged High Power Fiber Light Guide consisting of 3-4 legs.
Features & Benefits:
| Omnicure Series 2000 contains Closed-Loop Feedback | Ensuring a repeatable manufacturing process |
| Specific irradiance levels can be set | Minimizes heating and allows precise control |
| R2000 Radiometer used to calibrate the Omnicure Series 2000 | Set output level on multiple systems wirelessly |
| Cure Ring | Provides 360° illumination |
| Multi-legged High Power Fiber Light Guide | More efficient transmission can lower the cost of operation |
Nadelverklebungen
A wide variety of devices incorporate a needle or cannula including syringes, hypodermic and angiographic needles, IV sets and lancets. The joint is very small and cylindrical, typically joining a stainless steel cannula to a plastic hub. The joints must be well sealed to prevent fluids such as blood or medicine from leaking, while the position of the cannula must remain fixed. These applications are performed in semi or fully automated assembly environments where the parts are delivered to the bonding process or indexed in a fixture. The cannula is inserted into the hub, fixed in place, and presented in an array for curing.
Features & Benefits:
| Omnicure Series 2000 contains Closed-Loop Feedbackere | Ensuring a repeatable manufacturing process |
| Specific irradiance levels can be set | Minimizes heating and allows precise control |
| R2000 Radiometer used to calibrate the Omnicure Series 2000 | Set output level on multiple systems wirelessly |

| Multi-legged High Power Fiber Light Guide | More efficient transmission can lower the cost of operation |
| Automation | The curing system can be easily integrated into an automated system minimizing development time |
Schlauch- und Anschlussverklebungen
Bonding of tubing and connectors requires precision and repeatability to ensure that there is no leakage when transferring fluid in or out of the body.

Endoscope
UV curing is used in both the manufacturing and repair of endoscopes. UV Adhesives are used to bond optics and sometimes prisms in the distal end of endoscopes. Repairing endoscopes can include the optics along with endoscope covers which use special medical grade flexible coatings.
Features & Benefits:
| 100W lamp technology with up to 18W/cm2 of output and 2000 hour lamp life | Delivers the intensity required for endoscopic repair |
| Intelli-Lamp Technology to cool lamp and monitor lamp hours | Maintain optimum operating condition, stable lamp output, longer lamp life, and accumulates lamp hours |
| Automatic Lamp Striking with hot strike prevention | Protects Lamp Life |
| Adjustable light output in 1% increments | Allowing very precise control of output |
| Finger touch controls with LED display | Easy to use |
| R2000 Radiometer allows measuring of irradiance output | Ensures a repeatable process |
